Adaptation and implementation of AI in various companies are happening rapidly and increasingly. Companies around the globe have realized and observed the true potential of AI, especially in the period following the global pandemic. With that said, there have been a few questions surrounding the security of data, privacy, and so on. In this article, we are going to take a look at cybersecurity, and overall data protection with the use of AI. We will focus primarily on the healthcare implementation and use of AI.

The security concern

AI is on the raise but with it, so are many concerns and one of the main ones is security. According to the McKinsey & Company report from 2021 named "The state of Artificial Intelligence 2021", of more than 1,800 professionals who have participated in the study, 57 percent place cybersecurity as a top concern. Let's take a closer look at why this is exactly the case and what can be done to strengthen cybersecurity.

AI overall has seen some great development over the last couple of years. Machine learning and natural language processing together enable AI to use more data, analyze it faster, quicker and perform various tasks including efficient communication with clients or in healthcare with patients. AI is essentially taking more and more advantage of the resources in the cloud. This is for some a major cause of concern.

The sheer volume of data that AI can contain and go through is truly staggering. This is of course, necessary as this is the best way AI can learn and grow. Implementing AI in healthcare properly - What needs to be done?

When it comes to cybersecurity, the safest way to protect valuable data, files, and information, in general, is proper implementation. What does that mean for AI in healthcare exactly? Addressing liability issues and legal information sharing is a priority. The already existing laws and policies surrounding technological tools and services may be outdated and need to be updated first. Regulation should require that patient data remain in the jurisdiction from which it is obtained.

Once a team of dedicated workers is properly trained and implemented AI, health clinics can not only stop worrying about cybersecurity but also enhance it. Namely, with AI, aside from other benefits, clinics can identify and detect suspicious traffic, harmful software, infected links, or information vulnerability contexts in time. All of this actually increases the safety of patients' files and data.

The growth of the use of AI in healthcare

We have mentioned at the beginning of this article that there is a clear growth in the usage of AI in many companies throughout the world. However, this goes for health clinics as well. More and more clinics are moving towards digitalization. AI gives the much-needed analysis and threat identification and with a team of dedicated and trained experts behind it, can be efficiently used to minimize breach risk and enhance security posture.
